Privacy Policy

MoodaNote prioritizes user privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines what personal information we collect, use, store, and protect, complying with the South Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the GDPR, and other relevant laws.

1. Information We Collect

1) Required Information

We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication as default. You don't need to provide personal info to sign up. The following are automatically generated:

• Anonymous UID: A random identifier to manage your data
• Journal data (Mood labels, activities, notes)
• MBTI personality type
• AI-generated analysis results
• Nickname and profile information

2) Optional Information (SNS Login)

• SNS Account Identifiers (Google, Apple)
• Email address: For authentication and recovery
• Profile name/info provided by platforms

3) Automatically Collected Data

• Usage logs and crash reports (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics)
• Device info (Model, OS version)
• Advertising identifiers (ADID / IDFA) for ad delivery (excluding ad-removal purchasers and existing premium purchasers)

4) Feature-specific Data

• Photos: Used for visual mood tagging (private access only)
• Calendar (optional): Only the number of events and time-of-day density are read; event titles and content are not collected.
• Health & Sleep (optional): Only summary figures such as step count and sleep duration are used for AI analysis; the original data stays on your device.
• Weather: Weather context is shown on entries based on location coordinates saved in previous versions. The current version does not collect any new location data.

2. AI Analysis and Personalization

MoodaNote uses Google's Gemini AI as a third-party AI service to provide emotional analysis and personalized insights. The following data may be sent to Google Gemini AI for processing:

• Diary text content and mood labels
• Photo descriptions (when attaching photos)
• Calendar, health, and sleep summary figures (when connectors are linked and with user consent)
• MBTI personality type and writing style profile (with user consent)

Important: Your data is processed by Google Gemini AI solely for generating responses within the App. Your data is not used to train or improve Google's AI models. Users can disable AI personalization anytime in Settings.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Data is deleted immediately upon account withdrawal or app deletion. AI profiles are permanently purged upon deletion.

4. Third-Party Services

To operate the service, the App uses the following third-party services provided by Google LLC:

• Google Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Storage): UID, diary data, images, usage logs — for data storage and authentication
• Google Gemini AI: Diary text, mood labels, photo descriptions, calendar and health summary figures — for AI analysis, personalization, and narrative generation. Data is not used for AI model training.
• Google AdMob: Advertising identifiers — for ad delivery (users who have not purchased the ad-removal product)
• Google Analytics / Crashlytics: Usage logs, error data — for service improvement and stability

Personal information may be transferred overseas (primarily to the United States) solely for service operation. Google maintains SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications.
